These two girls broke my heart. I met them walking on the Barkhor, the prayer circuit around the Jokhang Temple which is a main shopping, walking, praying and talking venue for Lhasa Tibetans. They said they were on their way to sell the bread, and when I asked them if they were on holiday from school, they said they didn't go to school, they sold bread.
