eMerge Database Application on AS/400

  • Currently working as Software Anyalyst debugging a proprietary database management system running on an AS/400 database. (January 2003 - present)
Java
  • Concurrently preparing for exam for the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform. (December 2001 - present)
  • Completed Vista College Java course with training in all basic Java forms and functions, including Object Oriented Programming, exceptions, applets and GUI's. (August - December 2001)
  • Created Java Swing Applet which is a calculator and currency converter from Japanese Yen to US Dollars. Does not work on Macintosh. Calculator Applet (link at bottom of page)
    _ UNIX

  • Completed UC Berkeley Extension UNIX course with training in: visual editor, shell utilities, basic scripting, managing files and permissions, directory structures, UNIX processes, and shell interpretation of commands. (May - June, Summer 2001)
  • Employed UNIX as Technical Producer at ThirdAge Media in San Francisco for managing files, changing permissions, and conducting searches on strings and files (see more on ThirdAge position below).
